Buoy needed its product imagery to keep up with the range
Buoy's packaging and product range were moving faster than its photography. As the team prepared new product pages, some of its existing shots already showed older labels.
During a working session, Eddie Zelenak pointed to the gap: “you guys have more updated packaging than we do in terms of shots.”
The team needed content that could keep up. Each bottle had to look right on its own and alongside related products, with consistent styling across the website.
Lindsey shaped the product animation around the website
Buoy's designer, Lindsey Andruss, worked in Glossi to explore lighting, camera movements and exports. She wanted animations for expandable sections on desktop and mobile, where a moving bottle would sit beside product information and existing photography.
The team planned to keep its existing hero photography and use motion in the smaller product sections. The animation had to fit into a page already designed around photography, text and expandable panels.
That made the background and framing important. A clean backdrop let the bottle sit with the surrounding page, while the requested framing kept the product and its shadow inside the card as it moved.
The finished Brain Health and Rescue Drops animations show the treatment: bottles floating and turning against white, with their labels and full shapes in view.
Buoy could carry its visual direction into new product combinations
As the range grew, Buoy wanted to show products together. The team used an existing Hydration and Rescue Drops animation to describe the next version: “swap the skin on this one of Hydration + Rescue Drops attached and keep the action”.
The movement already expressed the look Buoy wanted. The next composition needed different products and labels. That gave the team a specific starting point for creating more content across the range.
Product groupings helped Buoy present the wider range
The next video requests covered Rescue Drops with Rescue Salt, a five-product lineup, and a larger grouping that brought the Rescue products into the range.
Those combinations reflected how Buoy presented its products to shoppers. The website examples below show the Rescue Kit and Ocean Electrolyte Kit as groups, giving individual bottles a place within a broader offer.
