How MagnaFlow made product imaging nearly automatic

From time-consuming manual rendering to a nearly fully automated process for product images and 360 views.

The customer’s verdictNearly automatic

With speed, consistency and quality.

MagnaFlow’s team already had engineering CAD. The challenge was turning it into consistent product content without repeating the same visual setup for every part. With Glossi, the team developed a workflow around prepared models, reusable rendering setups and the output requirements its catalog needed.

“Glossi has transformed our product imaging process, taking us from a time-consuming manual workflow to a nearly fully automated solution. We’re now able to turn CAD data into high-quality, photorealistic product imagery with incredible speed and consistency. It’s been a major improvement in both efficiency and output quality for our team.”

The challenge

The work behind every product image

An exhaust assembly and a catalytic converter do not fill a frame in the same way. MagnaFlow needed consistent views across differently shaped products, along with 360 outputs and filenames that matched the part numbers used by its team.

The existing process involved manual rendering and repeated visual adjustments. During onboarding, Product Manager James Sassone described framing as a process of guessing, checking and adjusting. The team wanted to avoid doing that work again for each new model.

The team’s plan for the year included roughly 1,200 new images, across new product development and a backlog of updates. It needed a process it could reuse as more products moved through it.

The workflow

Prepare the CAD.
Reuse the setup.

The workflow began with engineering models prepared with consistent material and appearance tags. Glossi’s reusable templates brought together materials, lighting, camera views, framing and output settings. The team could then apply the setup to incoming products rather than recreate the scene each time.

The implementation also addressed practical delivery requirements. Outputs needed part-number-based filenames, consistent dimensions and the views MagnaFlow expected. In June, the team confirmed that test files were being named as expected.

  1. Prepare the source

Engineering models carry consistent material and appearance tags.

  2. Apply the setup

Reusable templates define lighting, views, framing and output settings.

  3. Review the outputs

Check imagery and part-number filenames. Resolve exceptions where needed.

Prepared input still mattered. Different product types needed appropriate setups, and inconsistent legacy model orientation required attention.

The imagery

One part.
Consistent views.

Product content needs to hold together across angles. These views come from the same MagnaFlow 360 image sequence created with Glossi.

Customer validation

Tested with the team’s files and on the website.

By June, MagnaFlow had put Glossi imagery and a 360 view on a first test product page. On a review call, John showed the primary image and 360 and confirmed that the test looked good.

The team also tested the workflow itself. James described dropping in CAD data with the relevant tags and appearances and getting the expected visual result. That was an important step beyond seeing a vendor demonstration: MagnaFlow was checking the workflow against its own files and requirements.

This initial website test was one product page in June 2026.

The takeaway

A more repeatable way to produce product content

The change was practical. Prepared CAD, reusable rendering setups and agreed output rules gave MagnaFlow a way to reduce repeated manual production work while maintaining the speed, consistency and image quality John highlighted in his testimonial.

For manufacturers with existing product models, the opportunity is to put those models to work across the images and views their teams need to ship. MagnaFlow’s experience shows what that process involves: prepare the source, establish the setup, verify the outputs and make the workflow usable for the people running it.
